Visitors took photos and interacted at the China-Laos high-speed rail station, which began full operations on Dec 3.
The station was in Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture, Yunnan province, Southwest China, and is the first stop of the rail in China.
The station features local ethnic culture and tropical rainforest elements, and resembles a peacock with its wings spread, symbolizing future prosperity in bilateral trade, according to the Overseas Chinese Town, a State-owned enterprise in charge of the station's construction.
The China-Laos Railway is a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative, and connects Kunming in Yunnan with the Lao capital Vientiane.
