Located in the center of Beijing, Beihai Park covers an area of 690,000 square meters, including 390,000 square meters for water. It was called Yaoyu (literally the Isle of Precious Jade) in the Liao Dynasty and was established in 1166AD (the 6th year of Dading period of the Jin Dynasty). It used to be a royal place for sightseeing, government affairs handling and sacrifice by emperors and the imperial families of the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is the earliest and best preserved imperial garden in the world

5. Protect the wild life and the domesticated animals in the park.Do not tease them or throw rocks.Fish only in officially designated areas.

6. Rent,operate,and return pleasure boats as the rules stipulate.No swimming or ice-skating.

7. Peddling not allowed.Do not distribute any kinds of advertisements or brochures.

8. Please act with decorum in all matters and be courteous to all other guests and park staff.Gambling,public drunkenness, and lewd cehavior are strictly forbidden.

9. weapons or other dangerous items or materials are not allowed.Do not bring your pets into the park.Be careful with matches and do not start fires in any area or smoke in “non-smoking”areas.

10. Observe the hours of operation.Do not loiter or sleep in the park.Do not climb on walls or gates.
